We make a choice to protect the safety & wellbeing of Black women and girls.

Grandmothers’ Daughters is an emerging platform designed in collaboration with others to create a vessel for programs and initiatives centered in Afro-Feminine Indigenous philosophy that advances the protection of safety and wellbeing for Black women, Elders, and girls.

Programs:

Callie Rose Literary Arts Collective – A virtual and pop-up urban homeplace where all were welcomed and invited to participate in the  storytelling process through one of the many genres offered by community artists including fiction writing, memoir, poetry, spoken word, screenwriting, drama, comedy, music, drumming, visual arts, dance, and old-fashion dialogue around the ‘family kitchen table.’

HerStory: The Creation of a Community Homeplace https://www.flipsnack.com/florencealiesenetwork/callie-rose-literary-arts-9-7-in-2/full-view.html

SistaChat - Originally launched in Philadelphia, PA in 1997 as an after-school enrichment program for girls ages 9 to 13, SistaChat has emerged into an intergenerational feminine healing space where Black women and others gather to listen, share Grandmothers’ wisdom, network, support, and co-create a world free of violence against women and girls.

Calabash Fund – A mutual aid fund to support traditional community priests and aging Black and Indigenous women leaders.

Here are our collaborating partners:

We believe that Grandmothers across all time, places, and identities have called upon us to come together in sisterhood to reawaken the Divine Feminine back into the world. It will be through our genuine work of self-healing and spiritual elevation that we will be able to repair intergenerational harms in our families, our communities, and world at-large. We therefore support one another’s work as no one has all of the answers alone, however collectively we can make an impact.
